Strengthening ties between India and Madagascar

Ambassador Abhay Kumar called on H.E. Christian Ntsay, Hon’ble Prime Minister of Madagascar today. They reviewed the progress made in bilateral ties between India and Madagascar. 

Ties between India and Madagascar are stronger than ever. In April 2022, Madagascar’s Foreign Minister Richard Randriamandrato visited India  to attend the Raisina Dialogue and had a bilateral meeting with External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar. 

Recently, India announced donation of 15,000 bicycles to Madagascar on 3rd June 2022 on the occasion of the World Bicycle Day.
Soon, India is also going to donate 5000 metric tonnes of rice to Madagascar to help the country in its fight against the humanitarian crisis faced by the South of Madagascar. 

India considers Madagascar as a vital pole in the collaborative maritime vision of SAGAR  (Security and Growth for All in the Region) and has stood with Madagascar as a true all weather friend.
