Celebration of the Hindi Day 2022 

Press Release 

Hindi Day was celebrated at the Embassy of India Antananarivo on 14 September 2022. 

It was attended by the Malagasy students learning Hindi in the Embassy, members of ITEC, ICCR alumni, Indian community, and families of the Embassy officials. 

The event started with a welcome remark by Ambassador Abhay Kumar on the history of Hindi day celebrations in India and how celebrating Hindi day is important in promoting Hindi around the world. 

It was followed by Hindi writing and Hindi quiz competitions that saw enthusiastic participation of the guests. A short Hindi animation movie was also shown during the event. 

Hindi poems were recited by the Malagasy students and the officials of the Embassy with their families. 

The event also saw the launch of the Malagasy version of Bhagvad Gita by the Ambassador and the members of the Indian diaspora in Madagascar.
