Celebrations of "World Hindi Day-2025" on 10 January 2025.


  The celebrations of "World Hindi Day-2025" were organized by the Embassy of India in Antananarivo on 10 January 2025. The occasion was graced by the Minister of Technical Education and Vocational Training of Madagascar H.E. Mrs. Marie Marcelline Rasoloarisoa, Minister of Youth and Sports H.E. Mr.  Abdulah Marson Moustapha, Special Adviser to the President of Madagascar H.E. Mr. Patrick Rajoelina and other dignitaries as well as the members of local Indian diaspora.

2. The event commenced with the screening of a video ‘The Spirit of India’, which depicted India's rich cultural heritage. In his speech, Ambassador Bandaru Wilsonbabu highlighted that with more than 600 million speakers, Hindi is spoken not only in India but also in several countries across the world. He mentioned that Hindi serves as a gateway to India’s history, culture, literature, music, films etc and encouraged the people of Madagascar to benefit from the free of cost Hindi classes, conducted daily at the Embassy. 

3. The Minister of Youth and Sports H.E. Mr. Abdulah Marson Moustapha said that the celebrations of World Hindi Day reflected not only the growing importance of Hindi language across the world but also the long-standing ties of friendship between India and Madagascar. In her speech, the Minister of Technical Education and Vocational Training H.E. Mrs. Marie Marcelline Rasoloarisoa mentioned that Hindi was not just a language of communication but also a tool for transmission of Indian culture and traditions.

4. The event included vibrant Indian dance performances and a skit on environmental protection as well as recital of poems by Embassy's Hindi students. The event concluded with the handing over of gifts to the participants of the cultural program and tasting of traditional Indian snacks.
