Celebrations of the 76th Republic Day of India 

The 76th Republic Day of India was celebrated with patriotic zeal and fervour by the Embassy of India in Antananarivo on 26 January 2025. It was also attended by the members of Indian Diaspora and Friends of India in Madagascar.

2. The celebrations began with the unfurling of the Tricolor by Ambassador Bandaru Wilsonbabu. After the singing of the National Anthem, Ambassador read out the address of Hon'ble President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu to the nation. He also highlighted the achievements of India-Madagascar partnership over the past year and expressed the readiness of the Embassy to work closely with the local Indian Diaspora and Friends of India to further strengthen India-Madagascar partnership. The event included a Yoga demonstration and singing of patriotic songs by the Embassy Staff, Hindi students and representatives of the Indian Diaspora. The participants appreciated the selfie-photo booth depicting tourist destinations in India as well as the standees which showcased various Indian States.

4. Ambassador Bandaru Wilsonbabu presented “Certificates of Achievement” to the local winners of “Bharat ko Janiye (Know India)” Quiz which held from 11 November-11 December 2024.  The event concluded with the serving of Indian tea and tasting of traditional Indian snacks. The Town Hall of Antananarivo was illuminated with the Tricolor in the evening of 26 January 2025, to mark the 76th Republic Day of India.
