  On behalf of the Govt. and people of India and the Indian Navy, INS Trikand donated essential food items and medicines like rice, jam, tinned fruit, tea, tetra milk, cooking oil, disposable crockery and cutlery and essential medicines totalling about two tons for the victims of the bush fire disaster in Ambilobe region, which had caused extensive damage to life and property of about 5000 people. The donation was handed over by HE Mr. C.B. Thapliyal, Ambassador of India to Madagascar to the representative of the Chef of the Diana Region in the presence of the Prefet, Mayor of Antsiranana. representatives of Malagasy navy and Indian Community in Antsiranana,

          Indian Naval Ship (INS) TRIKAND, a modern Frigate of 124.8 feet in length made a Port Call at Antsiranana, Madagascar from 31 August to 3 September 2016 as part of the Overseas Deployment (OSD) of Western Fleet of the Indian Navy. The Ship, carrying 36 officers and 210 Sailors is under the command of Capt Arjun Dev Nair.

          In Antsiranana, the ship had been extensively engaging with the Malagasy authorities both in the military and civil arena to strengthen the bilateral relations between India and Madagascar. The above included two way courtesy calls, imparting training to Malagasy Navy personnel, participated in a sporting event with Malagasy Navy personnel at the National Stadium of Antsiranana and visited Maison Arnaud (Orphanage) to provide free medicines. The ship was also kept open for public visit during designated hours on 1st and 2nd September 2016 and public in large numbers made a visit to the ship.

Au nom du Gouvernement et la population de l'Inde ainsi que la marine indienne, le navire de guerre indien Trikand a donné des vivres tels que riz, confiture, conserves de fruits, thé, lait de tétra, huile de table, ustensiles de cuisine ainsi que  des  médicaments essentiels totalisant environ deux tonnes pour les victimes des feux de brousse dans la région Ambilobe, qui avait causé d'importants dégâts humains et matériels aux 5000 personnes environ. Le don a été remis par SEM C.B. Thapliyal, Ambassadeur de l'Inde à Madagascar au représentant du chef de la région Diana en présence du préfet, le maire d'Antsiranana, des représentants de la marine malgache et communauté indienne à Antsiranana,

        Le navire indien INS  TRIKAND, une frégate moderne de 124,8 pieds de longueur a effectué une visite à Antsiranana, Madagascar du 31 Août à 3 Septembre 2016, dans  le cadre du déploiement d’Outre-mer de la flotte occidentale de la marine indienne. Le navire, transportant 36 officiers et 210 marins est sous le commandement du Capitaine Arjun Dev Nair.

          A Antsiranana, le navire a largement collaboré  avec les autorités malgaches militaires et civiles pour renforcer les relations bilatérales entre l'Inde et Madagascar. Et ce, comporte une formation  à  la marine malgache. L’équipe de l’INS a également participé à un événement sportif avec la marine malgache au Stade national d’Antsiranana et visité Maison Arnaud (Orphelinat) pour fournir des médicaments gratuits. Le navire était ouvert pour la visite du public durant quelques heures le 1er et 2 Septembre 2016. Un grand nombre du public était venu pour visiter à bord du navire.
